King’s Kids Camp: Summer 2024

This summer we are headed back to King’s Kids camp! Each year we partner with other EFCA churches in St. Louis to put on King’s Kids Camp and it is an awesome time where our students have had a lot of fun and grow in their walk with Jesus. This is a joint camp that we do with both Quest Students and Quest Kids for incoming 4th-8th grade students. It is a great week and we hope your students are able to join us!

Here are the details for King’s Kids Camp 2024:

Signups: Register your camper here!

We ask that you register your camper(s) by June 14th as the cost goes up after that.

Dates: July 21-26 (Sunday through Friday)

  • Parents drop off campers Sunday afternoon between 2-3
  • Parents come Friday evening for a closing service

Location: Camp Wartburg (5705 Lrc Rd, Waterloo, IL 62298)

Who: Students entering 4th – 8th grade.

  • Older high school students have leadership opportunities to serve at camp as a counselor.
  • King’s Kids Camp is also still open to students entering 9th grade, but this year we have decided to encourage 9th graders to join our high school students going to the Challenge youth conference in Kansas City. If you aren’t sure what is best for your student, please let me know and we can talk more about it.

Cost: $250/camper

  • We were able to drop the cost this year from $400 to $250 because of everyone’s incredibly generous support at the Trivia night fundraiser! Thank you to everyone who contributed to that evening!
  • We also have scholarships available for students who need additional financial support to come to camp. We really want everyone to be able to come, so please let me know if you have a need.
  • Quest also will cover the cost for students who are old enough to do the high ropes course.

Payment

  • At the end of the registration you can choose to pay online or say you are paying by check.
  • If paying by card online, you MUST put in our discount code (QUEST150) to drop the cost to $250.
  • If paying by check make a check to Quest and list King’s Kids Camp and your camper’s name in the memo

Camp Activities: Each day there is time spent in a larger group session with worship, messages, and skits. Then each day there are all sorts of breakout activities for cabins like sports, crafts, swimming, music, high ropes, kayaking, and archery. There is time each day in groups called “worship workshops” where students get to work on a project of that honors God in a creative way (art, music, etc). Here is a video of camp from a few years ago.

Volunteering: If you are interested in coming out to camp as a counselor I would love to talk more with you the amazing opportunity to serve. We would love to have more people come out! You can apply to be a counselor through the website under volunteer application.

***One other change this year I wanted to let people know is that I will not be staying overnight at camp. I will be out at camp a lot during the week but I will not be serving as the camp pastor this year. Carolyn Miller (Children’s director from Bethesda) and Mike Priest (Pastor of Wellspring Family Church) will be the directors for camp this year. They are amazing and have done this many years before I have been involved with camp.

Let me know if you have any questions about King’s Kids camp and be praying for our group as we prepare for this summer. You can reach me at Johnathan.walker@questchurchstl.org
